In many nurseries, correcting empty cells in trays is still done manually. It’s time-consuming and labor-intensive. The FlexFixer changes that. Using vision technology and a multi-axis robot, the FlexFixer detects missing plants and automatically fills them with healthy plugs.
Trays or packs move directly from the transplanting line into the FlexFixer, where a top-mounted camera scans for empty cells. While that happens, plugs are gently lifted from a donor tray. A second camera checks which grippers are holding plants, ensuring only the right cells are filled—the result: up to 4,000 plugs fixed per hour, seamless integration with any brand transplanting line, and improved uniformity with reduced labor costs.
The FlexFixer represents a significant advancement in nursery automation, automating the final manual transplanting task.
